5 dengue patients die, 872 hospitalised in 24 hrs

Five dengue patients died and 872 were hospitalised in the country in the last 24 hours.
With this, a total of 20,213 dengue cases and 113 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease were reported from January 1 to September 17 this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Tuesday.
Last year, the country recorded 1,705 deaths from the disease which was the highest fatality in a year.
Besides, 3,21,179 dengue cases were reported in the same year.
