Former Rajshahi-4 MP Enamul arrested in Dhaka

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Engineer Md Enamul Haque, the former Member of Parliament for Rajshahi-4 constituency, from Dhaka’s Adabor on Monday noon.

ANM Imran Khan, Senior Assistant Director of Legal and Media Wing at RAB Headquarters, confirmed the arrest. 

He said Enamul was arrested in connection with an attack on students and the public during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Rajshahi's Bagmara on August 5. Legal action against him is underway.

Earlier in the day, four people, including Ekattor Television CEO Mozammel Haque Babu and Bhorer Kagoj Editor Shyamal Dutta, were detained by locals while allegedly attempting to flee into India illegally through the Dhobaura border in Mymensingh.

On Sunday night, the detective branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested former minister for cultural affairs Asaduzzaman Noor and former state minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Mahbub Ali from the capital.
