BSF returns body of Bangladeshi teen 2 days after killing

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has returned the body of a 15-year-old Bangladeshi boy, Jayanta Kumar Singh, two days after he was shot and killed by the BSF at the Kantibhita border area of Dhantala Union in Baliadangi, Thakurgaon.

The body was returned in the presence of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and police around 2:00 am on Wednesday.

Feroz Kabir, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Baliadangi Police Station, confirmed the matter to Jago News.

According to the police, the BSF was expected to return the body on Tuesday evening. However, the body was actually returned through the area near pillar number 393 at the Dhantala border in Baliadangi upazila after midnight. It was subsequently handed over to the family by the BGB and police.

Earlier, on Monday, Jayanta was shot dead by the BSF while allegedly attempting to cross into India near Main Pillar 393 of the Dhantala BGB border.
