Shots fired from Myanmar at Bangladeshi trawler

At least 50 shots were fired from the Myanmar border targeting a Bangladeshi passenger trawler on the St Martin's-Teknaf route in the Naf River in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday.

No casualties were reported in the incident that occurred in the Naikkhyongdia area this morning.

However, it is unclear if Myanmar's Border Guard Police or rebel group Arakan Army opened fired.

Lt Col Md Mohiuddin Ahmed, chief of the Border Guard Bangladesh Battalion-2 in Teknaf, said they are looking into the shooting incident.
