Tk 75 lakh missing from Agrani Bank’s vault in Chandpur

Around Tk 75.20 lakh has been missing from a vault of Agrani Bank PLC's Chengarchar Bazar branch in Matlab Uttar upazila of Chandpur.

Md Yusuf Mia, manager of the branch, filed a case against Dipankar Ghosh, cashier of the branch, with the Matlab Uttar police station on Monday in this connection.

According to the bank's cash position, the vault had Tk 1,00,99,068. However, the authorities found only Tk 27,79,068 in it on September 1, said the case statement.

Since the incident, cashier Dipankar, who has a key of the vault, remained absent at duty.

Manager Yusuf said the higher officials of the bank came here and conducted an audit.
