242 Bangladeshis detained in Malaysia

Malaysia's immigration police detained as many as 336 migrants, including 242 Bangladeshi nationals, in Johor state on Friday, local media reported.

Among other detainees, 44 are citizens of Indonesia, 21 of China, 16 of Pakistan, nine of Myanmar, and four of Sri Lanka.

On information provided by the detectives and locals, police detained them from a paper processing factory and a construction site for violating the Immigration Act, Johor Immigration Director Mohd Rusdi Mohd Darus said in a statement.
