Anything triggering controversy won’t be done, says adviser on nat’l anthem issue
Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain assured that the interim government will not engage in any actions that could spark controversy, particularly regarding the national anthem.
He made this statement while addressing the ongoing debate on the subject during a visit to Al Markazul Islami As Salafi Madrasa at Naodapara in Rajshahi, on Saturday (September 7).
"Changing the national anthem is a controversial issue, and any attempt to stir such controversy will be avoided. The Chief Adviser has made it clear that we will not touch anything that creates division," said Khalid Hossain.
During the visit, he also highlighted that madrasa students are not involved in militancy, citing intelligence reports as evidence.
"Madrasa students are the first to step forward in times of national hardship and are contributing significantly to the country's development," he added, encouraging them to aim high, even to the point of aspiring to become the country's Prime Minister.
Khalid hossain further condemned attacks on places of worship, including mosques, temples, and shrines, calling them deliberate acts of hostility.
"Those who attack places of worship are enemies of humanity. Attacks, particularly on places of worship of minority religious groups, are often politically motivated. The government will take legal action against the perpetrators," he asserted.
