Most of the ready-made garment factories in Dhaka’s Ashulia have reopened following several days of demonstrations by workers. The RMG workers returned to their workplaces on Saturday morning.

Additional police personnel have been deployed in front of the factories to manage any potential issues, and army patrols continue in the industrial areas.

The Industrial Police reported no untoward incidents in the industrial area since this morning, and almost all industries are now operating.

Superintendent of Police for Industrial Zone Police-1 in Ashulia, Mohammad Sarwar Alam, stated that most factories resumed operations on time today, with production halted in only 3-4 factories.

Recent unrest had been caused by agitation among workers and job seekers in some factories in the Ashulia industrial area. In response, a joint operation was launched under government guidance to restore normalcy. Several individuals have already been arrested on charges of sabotage, and security in the industrial areas has been reinforced.
