3 killed as bus hits truck on Bangabandhu Bridge

Three people were killed and ten others injured when a bus crashed into a truck from behind on the Bangabandhu Bridge in Sirajganj early Saturday. 

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The accident took place in front of 13 no pillar of the bridge around 5am. 

Mahbubur Kabir, Sub Inspector of Bangabandhu Bridge West police station, said a Dhaka-bound bus of Express Paribahan crashed into a stone-laden truck from behind while overtaking, killing three people on the spot and injuring ten others. Three bodies were recovered and sent to Sirajganj 250-beded Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital for autopsy.
