5 killed as bus, truck collide in Gopalganj

At least five people were killed and ten others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Gopalganj on Saturday morning. 

Four of the deceased were identified as Samad Ali, 40, Tania Afroz, Sakibur Rahman, 35 and Rahij Sheikh, 24. They all were the passengers of the bus.

The accident took place on Dhaka-Khulna highway at Majhigati area in Kashiani upazila of the district at 1:45am.

Rezaul Mawla, Station Master of Kashiani Fire Service, said five people were killed in a head-on collision between a Dhaka-bound bus of Emad Paribahan and a truck in the area. Being informed by locals, we rushed to the spot and recovered five bodies and ten injured people. The injured were sent to different hospitals, and bodies were handed over to police.  

Selim Miah, Inspector of Kashiani police station, said four of the five deceased have so far been identified. The bodies were sent to a hospital for autopsy.
