The death toll from the recent floods in 11 districts have risen to 54 with two more deaths reported in Feni, according to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.

Of the deceased, highest 19 people died in Feni, 14 in Cumilla, eight in Noakhali, six in Chattogram, three in Cox’s Bazar, one in Khagrachhari, Brahmanbaria, Lakshmipur, Moulvibazar each.

Besides, 54,64,167 people have been affected by the floods in 486 municipalities/unions of the 11 districts, the ministry said in a report on the flood situation on Friday.

However, one person still remains missing in Moulvibazar, according to the report.

At least 4,69,687 people and 38,192 domestic animals have been taken to 3,269 shelter centres, the report said.

Some 567 medical teams are providing medical services in the flood affected areas.
