Portfolios of 5 advisers to interim govt re-distributed

The interim government has re-distributed the responsibilities of its five advisers.

To this end, the Cabinet Division on Tuesday issued a notification by order of the President.

According to this notification, Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus will be in charge of six ministries and divisions - Cabinet Division, Ministry of Defence, Armed Forces Division, Ministry of Food, Ministry of Public Administration, and Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.

Brigadier General (retd) Dr M Sakhawat Hossain has been assigned for the Ministry of Textiles and Jute, and the Ministry of Shipping. Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed will be responsible for the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, and the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Adviser Hasan Arif has been entrusted with the responsibility of Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD), and Ministry of Land while Adviser Sharmin S Murshid will be responsible for the Social Welfare Ministry, and the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.

The charges of other advisers will remain unchanged.
