Gold price hits record high of Tk 1.27 lakh per bhori

The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association has raised the price of gold by Tk 1,936 to Tk 1,27,942 per bhori following an increase in the price of pure gold in the local market.

It is the highest price of gold till Thursday (August 25). Earlier on Thursday (August 22), the gold price hit a record of Tk 1,26,006 per bhori.

According to the fresh prices, gold of 22-carat was hiked by Tk 1,936 to Tk 1,27,942 per bhori (11.664 grams), 21-carat by Tk 1,843 to Tk 1,22,122, 18-carat by Tk 1,586 to Tk 1,04,684, and gold of traditional method by Tk 1,306 to Tk 86,547 respectively.

BAJUS's standing committee on pricing and price monitoring decided this in a meeting today, a press release said.

The new prices will come into effect from Monday (August 26).
