Dhaka-Ctg highway flooded, 40km long tailback
A 40km long tailback has been created on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway as the incessant rain and water from upstream India flooded the highway in Feni and Cumilla, causing immense suffering to the commuters.
The highway from Feni's Muhuriganj to Cumilla was seen submerged till Friday noon (August 23), leaving thousands of the vehicles stranded on the Dhaka-bound lane from Chattogram's Mirsharai to Feni.
Masud Rana, a truck driver, said he left Chattogram for Dhaka on Thursday afternoon but is stuck in Muhuriganj.
Another driver, Ariyan Rabby, said is stranded in the gridlock for around 15 hours.
Rabiul Alam, a bus driver, shared that he is stuck for hours with the passengers who are suffering a lot.
