2 Addl IGP, 1 DIG on forced retirement

The government has sent two additional inspectors general and a deputy inspector general of the police on compulsory retirement.

They are Md Mahabubar Rahman, chief of the Industrial Police, Mohammad Ali Mia, former chief of the Criminal Investigation Department, and Joydev Kumar Bhadra, DIG (crime management) at the Police Headquarters, according to three separate notifications issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday.

Earlier on August 13, police’s Special Branch chief Addl IGPs Md Monirul Islam and former Dhaka Metropolitan Police, DMP, Commissioner Habibur Rahman were sent to forced retirement.

On August 21, Md Atiqul Islam and Md Anwar Hossain, additional IGPs at the Police Headquarters, and Md Asaduzzaman, chief of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crimes unit of the DMP, were forced to retire.
