Malaysia repatriates 37 Bangladeshi migrants

Malaysia has repatriated 37 Bangladeshi migrants who were detained in the country for various crimes.

The Immigration Department of the country’s Johor State confirmed the matter in a statement on August 17.

They were sent to Bangladesh directly from the Pekan Nenas Immigration Detention Depot through the terminal-1 and terminal-2 of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) after serving their respective sentences.

Apart from them, 14 Chinese nationals, 15 Indonesians, one Nepali, and one Thai migrant were also deported from the country.

They have also been blacklisted and will be prevented from entering Malaysia again.

They were sent back at their own expense after serving their sentences under the country’s Immigration Act 1959/63 and Immigration Regulations 1963, as well as other enforcement agency laws.
