Metro operation to resume within a week: Adviser Fouzul
Road Transport and Bridge Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan announced on Sunday that metro rail operations will resume within the next seven days.
Speaking at a meeting with officials from the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, Adviser Fouzul emphasised the need for change within the ministry, stating, "The students shed their blood to establish equal rights and opportunities for all citizens. We must honour their sacrifice by preventing corruption and ensuring transparency and accountability within the ministry."
Fouzul paid tribute to the martyrs of both the 1971 Liberation War and the recent student movement in July, affirming the government's commitment to public welfare. "This government is not one to shy away from tough decisions," he said.
During the meeting, Adviser Fouzul also stressed the importance of maintaining quality standards while reducing costs in all projects, and he issued directives to ensure transparency in the tendering process.
The discussion was attended by senior officials of the ministry, including the Secretary of the Road Transport and Highway Department, Ehsanul Haque.
