3 die as microbus plunges into ditch

Three people were killed and two others injured as a microbus plunged into a roadside ditch in Chandina of Cumilla on Saturday afternoon.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Quoting the locals, Eliotganj highway police station officer-in-charge, Manzurul Alam, said a microbus plunged into a ditch near Madhaiya Muktijoddha Smriti College on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway around 12:30pm, leaving five injured.

Later, the Fire Service personnel and highway police rescued the passengers and took them to Chandina Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared three dead.
