Four more advisers sworn in

Four more advisers to the interim government were sworn in on Friday afternoon.

The new advisers are former cabinet secretary Ali Imam Majumder, economist Wahiduddin Mahmud, former secretary Fouzul Kabir Khan and Lt Gen Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered their oath at Bangabhaban around 4:00pm.

Following the resignation of Sheikh Hasina as Prime Minister on August 5, amidst an anti-discrimination student movement, the cabinet was dissolved, and the president dissolved the 12th Jatiya Sangsad the next day, on August 6.

The interim government, led by Nobel Peace Prize-winning economist Dr Muhammad Yunus, was sworn in on August 8.

With the new members, the number of the advisory council of the interim government increased to 21.
