Govt recalls 7 envoys

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recalled Bangladesh's ambassadors and high commissioners, appointed on a contractual basis, from the US, Germany, Russia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the Maldives.

The recalled envoys are Ambassador Mohammad Imran in the US, Ambassador Kamrul Hasan in Russia, Ambassador Javed Patwary in Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Shahabuddin Ahmed in Japan, Ambassador Abu Zafar in UAE, and High Commissioner Rear Admiral SM Abul Kalam Azad in Maldives.

Separate orders were issued on Wednesday, August 14, indicating their transfer to Dhaka.

The move comes amid a significant reshuffle in the administration, which has seen the cancellation of many top officials' contractual appointments and the removal of others.
