Biman MD made OSD

Md Zahidul Islam Bhuiyan, the managing director and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, has been made an Officer on Special Duty (OSD).

The Public Administration Ministry issued the notification on Thursday, August 15.

Zahidul Islam was appointed as the managing director of the national flag carrier on May 26 of this year. Before this role, he served as the private secretary to the former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s private industry and investment adviser. He has also held various positions in the Industry Ministry, Commerce Ministry, and the Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry.

His reassignment comes amid a significant reshuffle in the administration, which has seen the cancellation of many top officials' contractual appointments and the removal of others.
