NBR gets new chair, 2 more secys appointed

The government has appointed Md Abdur Rahman Khan as the Secretary of the Internal Resources Division, who will also serve as the ex officio Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR).

This follows the cancellation of the contractual appointment of the previous NBR Chairman, Abu Hena Rahmatul Munim.

Prior to this, Abdur Rahman served as the Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division.

Additionally, Md Mokabbir Hossain, Chairman of the Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council, has been appointed as the Senior Secretary of the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs, replacing Jahangir Alam, who was sent into forced retirement.

Dr Mohammad Emdad Ullah Mia, Member Secretary of the Planning Commission, has been appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, following the cancellation of his predecessor Wahid Akter's contractual appointment.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued separate notifications confirming these appointments on Wednesday.
