Nobel Laureate Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus returned home from France on Thursday afternoon.

The flight carrying him landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 2:00 pm.

Chief of Army Staff General Wakar-Uz-Zaman received him at the airport.

Dr Yunus left for Dhaka from Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris on Wednesday.

The interim government led by Nobel Laureate Dr Muhammad Yunus is expected to take oath at 8:00 pm on Thursday, Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman told reporters at the Army Headquarters on Wednesday.

General Waker also mentioned that the interim government is likely to consist of 15 members.

However, it has been decided to form an interim government led by Dr. Yunus on Wednesday following a meeting between President Mohammed Shahabuddin, the three chiefs of the armed forces, and the coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

Earlier on August 5, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled the country in the face of a mass uprising. The Cabinet later was dissolved.
