SAU VC, Pro-VC, Proctor resign

Vice Chancellor Professor Md Shahidur Rashid Bhuiyan, Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Alok Kumar Paul and Proctor Professor Md Harun-ur-Rashid of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) have resigned from their respective posts.    

They submitted their resignation letters on Tuesday night.

The university’s Registrar Sheikh Rezaul Karim confirmed the matter. 

Source said Md Touhid Ahmed Ashik, coordinator of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement gave an ultimatum the Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Proctor and Student Affairs Adviser to resign from their respective posts on Tuesday afternoon. Following the ultimatum, they resigned.

The government appointed Professor Shahidur Rashid Bhuiyan as Vice-Chancellor of the university on November 17, 2020, while Professor Alok Kumar Paul was appointed as Pro-Vice Chancellor on April 30, 2023.
