Moinul appointed as new IGP

Md Moinul Islam has been appointed as the Inspector General of Bangladesh Police (IGP).

The appointment was announced in a notification issued by the Police-1 Branch of the Public Security Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday (August 6). The notification was signed by Deputy Secretary Md. Mahabur Rahman Sheikh, by order of the President.

Prior to this, Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun was removed from his position as the Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Bangladesh. His release was effective on Tuesday night (August 6).
