Indefinite curfew imposed from 6pm
The government has imposed curfew for an indefinite period from 6:00pm on Sunday (August 4) in Dhaka and other parts of the country.
The curfew will be effective in Dhaka Metropolitan area, all divisional headquarters, municipalities, industrial areas, district and upazila headquarters.
The Home Ministry issued a notice in this regard today.
The curfew was issued when a non-cooperation movement called by the Anti-Discrimination Students' Movement is underway across the country.
As of filing this report, 25 people were killed and many injured in violence centring the protests.
Earlier on July 19, the government imposed nationwide curfew amid the violence centring the quota reform protests and later, relaxed it in several phases.
