Water levels of 73 rivers fall, 11 rise

Water levels in 73 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked falls and 11 stations recorded rises.

Among the 90 monitored water level stations, one river station has been registered steady while six rivers are flowing above the danger mark, a bulletin issued by FFWC said here on Monday.

The Atrai at Baghabari, the Dhaleswari at Elasin, the Lakhya at Narayanganj, the Kaliganga at Taraghat, the Dhaleswari at Jagir and the Titas at Brahmanbaria are flowing above its danger levels by 2 cm, 52cm, 8cm, 34cm, 40cm and 22cm respectively, reports BSS.

Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today.

A total of 52 millimeters (mm) rainfall were recorded at Barguna and 45.5 mm at Noakhali.
