Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has said the curfew will remain relaxed from 6am to 9pm from Sunday in Dhaka, Narayanganj, Gazipur and Narsingdi districts until further notice.

He said while speaking to journalists at his ministry’s conference room at the Secretariat after a meeting with top officials of the law enforcement agencies on Saturday night.

Home Minister said the local administrations of other districts will decide on the curfew for the concerned districts.

The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement declared a single-point programme demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and all members of the cabinet on Saturday afternoon.

Following the announcement, Home Minister sat with the top officials of the law enforcement agencies in a meeting around 7:30pm. The meeting ended around 10:15am.

The government imposed a nationwide curfew from July 20 as violence spread across the country, centring the movement for quota reform in government jobs. The curfew has been gradually relaxed since the imposition.
