Education minister’s Ctg house attacked

The residence of Education Minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury came under attack allegedly by a section from the protesters on Saturday.

Several hundred people from a procession of the Anti-Discrimination Students’ Movement attacked the house in Chattogram city’s  Sholoshahar area.

Two vehicles and furniture were vandalised in the attack.

Hasina Mohiuddin, mother of the minister, said a few thousands of people from a procession stormed into their house breaking the gate around 6 pm and vandalised two vehicles and some furniture.

The attackers were, however, not students rather it was a planned attack, she said.

Mokhlesur Rahman, deputy commissioner of the Chattogram Metropolitan Police, said they visited the spot and the situation there is now under control.
