Ganabhaban doors open, want to sit with protesters: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced on Saturday that the doors of Ganabhaban are open for dialogue and she is willing to sit down with the quota reform activists.
“I want to hear them out. I don’t want any conflict,” she said during a meeting with the central leaders of the Peshajibi Samanway Parishad at Ganabhaban.
The prime minister also ordered authorities concerned to release of detained general students.
She assured of holding trial of each killing during the anti-quota movement.
"Trial of each of the killing must be held," she said.
“I’m telling again that I’m still agreed to hold talks if the agitators want. They can come any time. If required they can come with their guardians," she said.
Nahid Islam, one of the key coordinators of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, said that they have no plan to sit with the government.
"When we were in DB custody, we were given a proposal to sit with the prime minister. But we staged hunger strike in the DB custody to protest against the proposal," he told reporters.
