Writ seeks compensation for 4 children killed in violence
A writ petition was filed with the High Court seeking compensation of Tk 1 crore for each family of the four children who were killed in the clashes centring movement for quota reform in government jobs.
The children are Abdul Ahad, 4, Ria Gupta, 6, Safkat Samir, 11 and Naima Sultana, 15.
Lawyer Taimur Alam Khandakar, on behalf of them, on Wednesday filed the petition with the concerned department of the HC.
The writ also sought a judicial investigation into the deaths.
At least 150 people were killed in quota reform protests, according to the government tally.
A Day of Mourning was observed across the country on Tuesday in memory of the victims who were killed in the clashes centring the quota reform movement.
