2 more quota protest coordinators taken into DB custody
The Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has taken two more coordinators of the quota reform movement - Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah - into their custody for, what they said, ensuring their security.
They were taken to the DB office at Minto Road in the capital on Saturday night.
Mohammad Harun Or Rashid, Additional Commissioner and DB chief, confirmed the matter.
Earlier on Friday night, the DB police also took three coordinators of the quota reform movement into their custody from Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital in the capital.
Harun Or Rashid said “If anyone feels insecure, it is our duty as law enforcer to provide safety and security.”
The DB chief also revealed that Gono Odhikar Parishad president Nurul Haque Nur and other leaders had admitted to communicating with the protest coordinators during interrogation.
