RAB arrests 290 in connection with violence

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Saturday said it arrested a total of 290 people in connection with the violence during the quota reform movement. 

ANM Imran Khan, Senior Assistant Director of Legal and Media Wing of RAB Headquarters, said they arrested a total of 290 people across the country, including 71 in Dhaka and 219 outside Dhaka on charges of sabotage. 

Earlier, RAB arrested four people including Gana Adhikar Parishad’s Member Secretary Md Tarek Rahman from the capital’s Mirpur and Badda on charges of sabotage and violence.

The other arrestees are Tarek’s associate Md Sajal Miah, 24, Al Foysal Roky, 27 and Md Ariful Islam, 30.

RAB said the arrestees, led by central Juba Dal’s Senior Joint Secretary Billal Hossain Tark, carried out sabotage and made arson attacks at BTV Bhaban, metro rail stations, Badda, Mirpur in the capital.
