Govt working on lifting curfew at the earliest: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Wednesday said the government is working on to lift curfew at the earliest possible time.

“We don’t want to continue with curfew at all. They have attacked the police stations, killed the police personnel and demolishing the key-point-installations. They are killing police, RAB, Ansar and BGB when with discharging their duties. So, we had to impose curfiew,” said the minister while talking to reporters at the ministry.

He said the government will bring the suboteurs during the quota reform protests to book after tracing them. "We will identify them one after another with all our ability and bring them to justice. We won't step away," he told the reporters at the Secretariat in Dhaka.

"We hope everything will be under control in next two or four days," he said adding the military will go back to the barracks and the curfew will be withdrawn when normalcy will return.

"We are working to achieve it as soon as possible."
