Police and Brac University students locked in a chase and counter chase in front of their campus in the capital’s Badda on Thursday morning. Following the incident, vehicular movement was suspended in the area.  

A group of anti-quota protesters started blocking the road after 10:30am where several hundred of students took part. At that time, police chased them and in response, the students hurled brick chips at the law enforcing members. At one stage, police fired sound grenades.

However, a police box was set on fire in the capital’s Rampura at 11:05am.   

A chase and counter chase took place among police, Awami League and Juba League activists in front of the Bangladesh Television.
