16 platoons of Ansar deployed in Dhaka

A total of 16 platoon members of Ansar battalion have been deployed in Dhaka to maintain law and order amid ongoing quota reform movement.

Ansar and Village Defense Force’s Assistant Director (VDP Training) and Public Relations Officer Md Rubel Hossain confirmed the matter to the media on Wednesday night.

He said a total of 16 platoons of Ansar battalion, including 40 female members, have been deployed to maintain law and order in Dhaka as per the instructions of the Political Branch-2 of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Ansar members have been asked to ensure the safety of people’s lives and public properties, he added.

It is mentionable that, six people were killed in clashes during the anti-quota movement in Dhaka, Chattogram and Rangpur.
