A student and a passer by were killed in a clash between Bangladesh Chhatra League activists and protesters against quotas in government jobs in Chattogram on Tuesday.

One of the victims was a student of Chittagong College and the other was initially reported to be a pedestrian.

The deceased student was identified as Wasim Akram, 23, and the pedestrian Md Farooq, 33. The bodies of both are in the emergency department morgue of Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

Director of the hospital Brigadier General Mohammad Taslim Uddin confirmed the matter and said that one of the victims was a student of Chittagong College and the other one was a pedestrian.
