Three killed as truck hits auto-rickshaw in Mymensingh

Three people were killed and another was injured as a truck hit a battery-run auto-rickshaw in Ishwarganj upazila of Mymensingh on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Taslim Talukder, 35, son of Kuddus Talukder, a resident of Charshihari village, Arifuzzaman, 18, son of Aminul Haque, of Jatia Charpara village, and Zahanara Begum, 38, wife of Abul Khair, of Noapara village in the upazila.

Ishwarganj Fire Station officer Delwar Hossain confirmed the matter to Jago News.

Police and local sources said a truck hit a battery-run auto-rickshaw coming from opposite direction on Mymensingh-Kishoreganj road in Harua Bazar area around 1:30 pm, leaving two dead on the spot and two others injured.

Being informed, the firefighters rescued the injured and took them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared one dead.
