5 crushed to death by train in Narsingdi

Five people were crushed to death by a train in Narsingdi early Monday. 

The incident took place at Komolpur area under Polashtoli union in Raipura upazila of the district around 5:45am. 

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately. 

Locals said they spotted four dismembered bodies beside the rail tracks around 8:30am. Being informed, police rushed to the spot.

However, police could not confirm how they were killed.

Afsan Alam, Additional Police Superintendent of Narsingdi (Raipura circle), said on information, we rushed to the spot and saw the dismembered bodies beside the Dhaka-bound railway tracks. Local people did not identify the bodies. 

He said three trains were running towards Dhaka before the bodies were recovered. It is believed that they were crushed under one of the trains. We informed the matter to Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) and they will work to identify them.
