A court in Dhaka has ordered the confiscation of immovable property of Mohammad Enamul Haque, the commissioner of the Customs, Excise & VAT Commissionerate, Sylhet in a case filed for allegedly amassing illegal wealth.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Ash-Shams Jaglul Hossain passed the order on Thursday following an appeal filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission to confiscate his property, ACC lawyer Mahmud Hossain Zahangir said.

The investigation officer mentioned in the plea that they came to know by trusted sources that the customs official was trying to transfer his immovable property and that's why, the petition was filed.

The anti-graft body lodged the case against Enamul on allegations of amassing around Tk 9.76 crore illegal wealth by bribery and corruption.
