DNCC conducts eviction drive at Sadeeq Agro

An eviction drive is being carried out at the Sadeeq Agro farm, which was illegally built on the site of the Ramchandrapur canal and the adjacent road at Mohammadpur area in the capital.

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) launched the drive around 12:30 pm on Thursday.

Regional Executive Officer (zone-5) and Executive Magistrate Motakabbir Ahmed confirmed the matter to Jago News. 

Earlier around 11:45pm, the DNCC’s mobile court went to the spot with a pelodar, a wheel excavator and three backhoe loaders.

The owner of the Sadeeq Agro farm is Imran, who is the president of Bangladesh Dairy Farmers Association (BDFA).

Sadeeq Agro gained attention before Eid-ul-Azha by selling a goat for Tk15 lakh to the son of former NBR official Matiur Rahman.

DNCC source said, a letter, signed by DNCC Chief Property Officer Mohammad Mahe Alam, was sent to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner for police deployment during the eviction drive on Wednesday.
