2 killed as bus hits truck in Brahmanbaria

Two people were killed and some others injured as a bus crashed into a truck in Brahmanbaria early Thursday.

The incident took place on Cumilla-Sylhet highway at Syedabad area in Kasba upazila. 

The deceased were identified as Saif, 20, son of Tajuddin Ahmed, and Raju, 20, son of Kashem Miah, of Tikkolhati village at Nikli upazila in Kishoreganj.

Police and locals said a Cumilla-bound bus of Bismillah Paribahan crshed into the truck from behind while trying to overtake it, injuring some people. Of them, Saif and Raju were taken to Brahmanbaria General Hospital where the doctors declared them dead. 

Ashish Kumar Shaynal, Officer-in-charge of Khatihata Highway Police Station, said bodies of the deceased were kept at the hospital. The vehicles were seized and legal action is in process.
