Tamim briefs the militants over Gulshan attack

Accused Hasnat Karim and Tahmid Hasib, arrested over Gulshan Holey Artisan Bakery attack on July 1, confessed that Tamim Chowdhury, prime accused of Gulshan attack and the new coordinator of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), briefed the militants, who took part in the attack, on June 30 in city’s Bashundhara area.

During the interrogation Hasnat Karim and Tahmid Hasib told to Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit of Police that Tamim Chowdhury, a Canadian expatriate, now who remained absentia, briefed the militants at the house of Professor SM Gias Uddin Ahsan, Pro Vice-Chancellor of North South University who is in jail now, at Bashundhara area on June 30, said the responsible sources of law enforcers Jagonews24.com wishing anonymity.

The sources said Tamim taught different techniques them and he gave word to the militants that he also will take part in the action by appearing in the area during the attack.

Hasnat and Tahmid unveiled the information about the plan and action of Gulshan attack at the 1st day of their eight day remand.

Earlier, law enforcers arrested the duo under section 54 and a court put them eight-day remand.

On July 1, gunman stormed into Holey Artisan Bakery of Gulshan area, an upscale diner, favorite to foreigners, killed 22 people including 17 foreigners and two police officers.
