JMB member killed in Bagmara gunfight

An alleged member of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) was killed in a gunfight with cops at Jorapukur Ashroy prokolpo area in Bagmara upazila of Rajshahi district on Sunday mid night.

The identity of the deceased could not be known yet.

Officer-in charge of Bahmara Police Station Selim Hossain said a patrol team of Baghmara Police Station was in their regular duty at the area,

During the patrolling, suddenly a group of JMB members opened fire on them forced the law enforcers to retaliate.

At one stage of gunfight, a JMB member caught under the line of fire and dead on the spot.

Later, police recovered his body from the area.

However, his associates managed to flee from scene.
