Police cordon off 'militant den' in Netrakona
Police cordoned off a house in Sadar upazila of Netrakona on Saturday, suspecting it to be a militant den.
Police said they conducted a primary search in the house in Bhasapara area under Kailati union this afternoon and recovered an Indian pistol, 17 rounds of bullets, and an AK-47 gun.
Locals said there are women and children in the home and they assume there might also be male 'militants'.
Faiz Ahmed, superintendent of the district police, said the house owner, retired engineer Dr Abdul Mannan, is a resident of Noapara village under Shormushia union in Atpara upazila but he resides in Gazipur.
One Arif rented the house two years ago but today he was found there, Faiz Ahmed added.
