Jubo League leader shot dead in Jashore

Miscreants shot dead a local Jubo League leader in Sadar upazila of Jashore at midnight on Thursday.

Deceased Mohammad Ali, 35, was the son of Abdur Rahman, a resident of Bahadupur in the upazila.

Locals said a few people opened fire on Mohammad Ali at Bahadurpur Tetultala intersection on his way home, leaving him seriously injured.

Later, he was rushed to Jashore General Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

The hospital's Emergency Department doctor Md Suzayet said two bullet marks were found on his head and one on his leg.

In this regard, Jewel Imran, additional superintendent of the district police, said it is assumed that the murder might have happened over a land dispute and several teams of police started looking into the incident.
