Another Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrim dies in Saudi Arabia

Another Bangladeshi pilgrim who travelled to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj has died in Madina.

The information was provided in a bulletin released by Hajj Management Portal of the Ministry of Religious Affairs at 2:59am on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Maksud Ahamed, 61. He died on June 2. His passport number is ‘B00764305’.

With this, ten Bangladeshi pilgrims have so far died this year during hajj.

So far, 58,121 pilgrims have travelled to Saudi Arabia to conduct the Hajj. Of them, 3,747 went under a government travel package while the remaining 54,374 bought a private Hajj package.

The Hajj may begin on Jun 16, subject to the sighting of the moon. A total of 86,257 pilgrims will perform hajj from Bangladesh this year.
