Govt-autonomous office timing from 9am to 5pm after Eid

The government has decided to set office hours from 9am to 5pm, for all government, semi-government, autonomous, and semi-autonomous institutions.
The new office hours will be effective after Eid-ul-Azha.
The cabinet on Monday approved a proposal from the public administration ministry on the new office timing in its meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
There will be a break for prayers and lunch from 1pm to 1:30pm. Weekly holidays will be on Friday and Saturday as usual.
Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain briefed the reporters after the meeting.
The current office-hour from 9am to 4pm was made effective from November 15, 2022 in order to save power and energy changing the usual office time from 9am to 5pm.
