Ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route suspended

Authorities of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) have suspended three ferry ghats on the Paturia-Daulatdia as erosion and mighty current damaged the ghats.

Assistant Manager of BIWTC Daulatdia Ferry Ghat said we already have suspended one, two and three no. where only four no. ferry ghat is on service.

Urging people to use alternative ways insist of Paturia-Daulatdia ferry route Zihadul Kabir, Police Superintendent said might current and erosion of Padma River damaged three ferry ghats of four.

The suspension of ferry services has caused huge traffic congestion on both sides of the route.
