MP Anar killing: Arrest warrant issued against Siam
A Dhaka court on Sunday issued an arrest warrant against M Siam Hossain, for allegedly abducting Anwarul Azim Anar, Member of Parliament of Jhenaidah-4 Constituency to kill him in West Bengal, India.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubul Haque issued the arrest warrant followed by an application of the investigating officer of the case, reports BSS.
Siam, who is absconding in Nepal, is a resident of Borhanuddin upazila of Bhola district.
The National Central Bureau (NCB) of Kathmandu Police was informed by the NCB of Bangladesh Police, along with necessary information to arrest Siam and bring him back.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Detective) Mohammad Harun-or Rashid left Dhaka for Nepal on Saturday morning to investigate the murder case.
On May 12, Anwarul Azim Anar went to India for treatment. His family couldn't communicate with him by any means two days after the lawmaker's reaching Kolkata.
Later, his family members informed Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan.
Subsequently, Bangladesh Police communicated with Indian Police, and the Indian Police confirmed that Anar was murdered in Kolkata.
On May 22, Anar's daughter Mumtahin Ferdous Dorin filed a case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar thana of the capital.
The next day, police arrested - Syed Amanullah alias Shimul Bhuiyan, Faisal Ali alias Tanvir Bhuiyan and Shilasti Rahman for having connection with the murder.
The trio was remanded in two phases for eight and five days, each, on May 24 and May 31.
